A FIELD GUIDE FOR CURIOUS MINDS
Explore the extraordinary questions of being human. A guided journey through biology, mind, perception, and the boundaries of consciousness—without being told what to believe.
WELCOME, EXPLORER
Some questions deserve more than a quick answer.
This Learning System helps you understand the ideas behind the 1000 Blindfolds workshop: the concepts, the cases, and the connections between them. Begin with measurable biological processes, then follow the inquiry toward the mind and consciousness.
Along the way, learn to explain what was observed, understand what the evidence supports, and recognize what remains open.
YOUR LEARNING PATH
Start at the beginning to build your foundations,
or return to the question that has your attention.
How do living systems organize growth, repair, and form? Begin with membrane voltage, ion gradients, regeneration, and the evidence that electrical state can participate in biological patterning.
Open study guideFollow Robert Becker’s healing question from wound currents to electrical interventions. Learn to separate correlation from causation, tissue growth from organized regeneration, and intriguing results from stronger mechanistic claims.
Open study guideExplore relationships among slow electrical measurements, anesthesia, attention, pain, and hypnosis. The central question becomes how physiological state and conscious experience relate without treating one measurement as consciousness itself.
Open study guideStudy how expectation, context, imagery, dreams, and hypnosis can shape perception and bodily experience. Cases and experiments show why a powerful experience and a proven mechanism are not the same thing.
Open study guideThe inquiry moves beyond effects within one person. Examine interpersonal intention, telepathy, and physical systems while asking what was actually measured, what the evidence can support, and which proposed mechanisms remain open.
Open study guideInvestigate Mindsight as both a perceptual question and an information-access question. Shaun Jordan’s case, residual sensory information, sensory substitution, plasticity, synesthesia, and controlled testing provide different ways to ask what information is available and how it becomes experience.
Open study guideExplore neural rhythms, insight, memory reconstruction, changing neural representations, unusual neurological cases, and competing models of consciousness. The domain asks how brain state changes what becomes accessible to awareness—and what different theories would need to explain.
Open study guideRemote viewing, out-of-body experiences, near-death phenomena, survival hypotheses, and reincarnation claims push the inquiry toward harder boundaries. The key question is not simply whether an experience is extraordinary, but what observations could distinguish competing explanations.
Open study guideNo matching domains. Try “memory,” “hypnosis,” or “perception.”
HOW WE EXPLORE
An unusual observation is a starting point.
Careful questions help us understand it.
Begin with what was reported, measured, recorded, or directly documented.
Look at the study, comparison, case record, or data. Ask what kind of conclusion it can support.
Separate the observation from the explanation. Consider other ways the same result could arise.
Name what remains uncertain and what evidence could help distinguish the possibilities.
Experience and mechanism. An experience can be meaningful while its cause remains uncertain.
Evidence fitness. An account, a documented case, a controlled experiment, and a replication support different kinds of conclusions.
Alternative explanations. Consider ordinary information routes, cueing, chance, and measurement error.
Discriminating evidence. Ask what result would help separate competing explanations.
THE SOURCE LIBRARY
The Study Guides are your main path.
These companions add depth when it matters.
See an individual study clearly: its question, methods, sample, important data, findings, and limitations—with a route back to the paper.
Explore the researchFIND THE RIGHT PASSAGE
Find the research register IDs and book passage codes connected to each concept, across all eight domains and seven book companions.
Find sources by topicFind the context behind connected ideas, experiments, and extended cases. Focused on the passages that deepen your understanding.
Follow the experiments behind bioelectricity, healing, and regeneration.
Near-death cases, memory research, and the questions they leave open.
Savant cases, learning histories, and proposals about latent capacity.
Childhood cases, investigation methods, and competing interpretations.
Dream targets, distant-influence accounts, perception, and a proposed consciousness model.
Morphic fields, biological organization, intention experiments, and the author’s wider synthesis.
Clinical sessions, research design, near-death comparisons, and proposed pineal and receiver hypotheses.
Audiobook listening windows, where supplied, are manual-seek guides; playback alignment remains unverified. Islands of Genius uses written-book locators.
MAKE THE IDEAS YOUR OWN
Move through the domains in order on your first pass. Each gives the next questions a foundation.
Open a paper or book companion when a specific case, experiment, or idea needs more context.
Aim to explain the idea naturally, give an example, and name what the evidence does—and does not—support.
